The WSC Travel Soccer Program provides opportunities for
U-10, U-12, U-14, and U-16 players to achieve higher levels
of participation through Southeast Connecticut Junior
Soccer Association (SECJSA) District league competition. The Southeast District is one of
the seven districts that make up the
Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA),
the governing body for Connecticut Youth
Soccer. The
WSC Travel Soccer Program Coordinator is Mr.
John Dippolina.
The Travel Soccer Program consists of FALL and SPRING outdoor seasons where Waterford teams compete with other the travel teams of other southeastern Connecticut towns. The FALL season normally begins in September and runs through early November. The SPRING season normally begins in late-April or early May, and continues into the third week of June. WSC Travel Soccer teams are divided into skill levels "A" and "B". At a minimum, any player that wants to participate in travel soccer will be assigned to a "B" team. As the WSC Town Recreational Program only extends through U-10 players, all players U12 or above compete in the Travel Soccer Program. Late each spring, TRYOUTS are held for "A" team selection. A significant commitment is required to play in the WSC Travel Soccer Program. Unlike the Recreational Program, players who continually miss practice and/or games will jeopardize their spot on the travel team as well as playing time in games. PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AT EVERY PRACTICE AND EVERY GAME. |
